Melting Pole Table
Materials
The "Melting Pole" Table is made out of basswood, covered with white paint, to accentuate the metaphor of the iceberg. The legs and top are made out Acrylic which is a material that looks clean and its transparency allows light to create different patterns, so it is a changing piece of furniture.
Software
Fusion 360, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
The "Melting Pole" table is a statement of the current defrosting state of the icebergs on both sides of the hemisphere we call earth due to global warming. The blue glass panel resembles the sea, and the white pieces the defrosting icebergs. The legs that transform into the ice pieces are shaped like a sand clock, alluding to the fact that time is running out to prevent the poles from defrosting and to stop global warming.
